The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs win on Sunday to earn themselves a trip to the Super Bowl in Arizona.
Philadelphia Eagles -31 San Francisco 49ers - 7
The Eagles will move on to the Super Bowl after defeating the 49ers at home to face the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the fourth Super Bowl appearance for the Eagles in franchise history and they will have the opportunity to win their second Super Bowl in team history. The Eagles put on another dominant performance against a hobbled 49ers team which was forced to play with their fourth string quarterback Josh Johnson, a 15 year NFL veteran. Brock Purdy went down after just completing just two passes and being sacked by Hassan Reddick he would leave the game and have Josh Johnson enter.
Josh Johnson would later go down with a head injury forcing emergency quarterback Christian McCaffery to take snaps at quarterback and have Brock Purdy, who was injured go back in at the quarterback spot. This was a horrible storm for the 49ers and a perfect one for the Eagles as they get to move on to the Super Bowl preserving Jalen Hurts health as he did not have to throw or run the ball much due to the 49ers injured state. Jalen would end up with 121 yards and 15 completions. Hassan Reddick would be the most important player for the Eagles defense getting two sacks and one tackle for loss.
The Eagles move on still looking like the best team in football and they look to prove it in the Super Bowl. The goal for the Eagles should be to preserve Jalen Hurts health even more so he is as close to 100% heading into the Super Bowl.
Kansas City Chiefs - 23 Cincinnati Bengals 20
The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Eagles in the Super Bowl after a last second game winning kick to win the game for the Chiefs. This is the third Super Bowl appearance of Patrick Mahomes career in his fifth season as a starter for the Chiefs. The Chiefs how now finally beaten the Bengals after they were defeated this season and last season during the AFC Championship game. Patrick Mahomes dealing with a high ankle sprain ran for a first down on one of the final play of the game to seal them being in field goal range and a penalty that pushed the Chiefs closer down field which made the kick a lot easier to make.
Chris Jones previous took the Bengals off the field on a crucial third down with a sack on Joe Burrow, one of five for the Chiefs. Mahomes would throw for 326 yards on 29 completions with two touchdowns to Travis Kelce and Marquez Valdes Scantling. Burrow would throw one touchdown and two interceptions as the Chiefs defense put pressure on Burrow and the Bengals offensive line all night long. The Chiefs were looking to prove the doubters wrong proving in fact that it is indeed still Arrowhead and not "Burrowhead."
This Super Bowl will be a matchup between brothers Jason Kelce the center for the Philadelphia Eagles and Travis Kelce the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. They have a podcast together which they have been doing all season long and this Super Bowl will give one of the brothers the edge in Super Bowl Titles each having one a piece. Andy Reid will also be facing off against his former team where he spent 14 years as a head coach. The priority for the Chiefs will be similar to the Eagles as they had three receivers go down with injuries, Travis Kelce was dealing with a back issue and of course Patrick Mahomes is dealing with a high ankle sprain so they will need to preserve the health of these players going into the Super Bowl.
