Kansas City Hangs On To Win In Denver

The Kansas City Chiefs are now almost division champions after making it through a three interception day by Patrick Mahomes to win 34-28 over the Denver Broncos

Despite the Chiefs leading 27-0 with 4:32 left in the second quarter allowed the Broncos to come back to make the score 34-28 with 10:49 to go. However the Chiefs were able to hold on and close out the game making this the Chiefs 14th consecutive win over the Broncos

Patrick Mahomes who had himself an up and down day making stellar passes including one to Travis Kelce to make him the fastest Tight End to reach 10,000 career receiving yards, also had three interceptions on the day and could have caused the Chiefs to fall and lose the game.

The Chiefs were able to improve to 10-3 while the Broncos fall to 3-10 and now hav been eliminated from playoff contention. Russell Wilson went down with a concussion injury during the game and finished with 247 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

The Broncos offensive struggles and especially the play of Russell Wilson have been disappointing all season. They never found their groove with their newly acquired quarterback and are now out of playoff contention. The Broncos should focus on keeping the defensive unit together and maybe experiment with some quarterback competition this offseason as well as draft offensive talent.

The Chiefs are now on the cusp of winning the division and are playing for the number one seed in the AFC to earn themselves a by week in the playoffs.
