Kevin Durant Has Been Traded to the Phoenix Suns

Kevin Durant Traded hours before the trade deadline to the Phoenix Suns for a haul of players and draft picks.

After Kyrie Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, Kevin Durant was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns for Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cam Johnson and four first-round picks. Durant and TJ Warren are now members of the Phoenix Suns.

Those first-round picks come in from 2023, 2025, 2027, 2029 and a pick swap from 2028. This trade moves Kevin Durant to the Suns to pair with Davin Booker, and Chris Paul who are both recently coming off of injury. The Suns had a slump in the middle of the year where they slipped in the standings, however they currently sit in the fifth seed of the western conference at 30-26.

The Brooklyn Nets saga after acquiring Durant and Irving in the 2019 offseason has now officially ended with the team trading away James Harden last trade deadline to the Philadelphia 76ers and now Kyrie Irving moving on to the Dallas Mavericks and Kevin Durant headed to the Suns. The Suns new owner like many owners in the past made a big splash by trading for Durant and has put his stamp on this team.

Brooklyn is now left with many high level role players and is rumored to be moving some of those players for draft capital as they look to rebuild with all of their stars gone. Ideally they would want to move on from Ben Simmons however teams around the league believe he has little to no value from the production he has shown this season.
