Brock Purdy shines in his first ever NFL start helping to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 35-7 and improving the 49ers to 9-4
This is something I'm sure Brock Purdy could have only dreamed of in his first ever NFL start after being the last pick in the previous years draft, going out and defeating Tom Brady in front of your family. Purdy threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the win Sunday night. He had a stellar passer rating of 134.0 and completed 16 of his 21 pass attempts.
The 49ers played excellent today on offense and defense, holding the Buccaneers to just 7 points and holding Tom Brady to one touchdown pass and two interceptions. The Bucs fall to 6-7 however they are still leading the division as of right now. Christian McCaffrey continues to be excellent with the 49ers rushing for 119 yards and catching one touchdown pass.
The only thing the 49ers have to worry about is Deebo Samuel who went down with an ankle injury in the second quarter which is suspected to be a high ankle sprain.
The 49ers now have a chance to clinch their division next week against the Seattle Seahawks and continue to look like the Super Bowl threats they could be in the NFC.
