The Los Angeles Rams Win In Baker Mayfield's Debut

The Los Angeles Rams snap the Raiders 3 game winning streak, winning 17-16 on the last play of the game with a touchdown to Van Jefferson in the final 15 seconds of the game.

Baker Mayfield coming off the bench in his first game for the Rams threw for 230 yards and one touchdown completing nearly 63 percent of his passes in his first game. Cam Akers led the Rams in rushing for the game with 42 yards on 12 carries. Ben Skowronek led the Rams in receiving yards with 89 yards on seven receptions. The Raiders offense struggled to stay on the field, Davante Adams struggled in this game only getting three catches on seven targets for 71 yards but managed to have a highlight catch early on Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

The Raiders fall to 5-8 on the season and are now completely on the outside looking in when it comes to their playoff chances. Derek Carr has been mediocre at best this year and the pairing of him and Adams has been lackluster so far. The Rams improve to 4-9 on the season, but virtually have no chance to compete for the rest of the season due to the injuries on this team.

The Los Angeles Rams picked up Baker Mayfield after he was released by the Carolina Panthers. The Rams starting quarterback, Matthew Stafford went down with a neck injury so the Rams were in need of a quarterback for the time Stafford will be out with injury.

Baker Mayfield struggled in his time at Carolina throwing six touchdowns and six interceptions in seven games for the panthers only completing 57.8 percent of his passes. Baker can hopefully improve his stock in these final games with the Rams either to find a good spot in a backup role on this team or another, or play well enough to become a starter on a different team next season.
