Trea Turner Reunites With Bryce Harper In Philly

Trea Turner has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies for 11 years 300 million dollars.

That comes out to about 27 million a year. What a signing after the year the Phillies had this past season going all the way to the world series and now hoping to go back and win it all this upcoming season.

Trea Turner is arguably the best shortstop in the league starting his career with the Washington Nationals his breakout year in 2019 hitting .298 with a .850 ops. Turner went on to finish seventh in MVP voting in the shortened 2020 season and fifth in voting in 2021.

He was traded to the Dodgers 96 games into the season and his splits are very similar for both teams showing more power with 28 home runs in 2021. Now in 2022, he hit .298 with 39 doubles, 21 home runs, and 100 RBIs. If you are reading this and are lost on all these stats these just show how all around he is a great player.

Being traded to the Phillies now means he is playing with Bryce Harper again and just the thought of them on the same team again makes me want the season to be here. The Phillies are looking to add to their success from last year now locking up Turner for 11 years when he will be 40 at the end of his contract.

I’m looking forward to seeing what other big moves the Phillies make this off-season and hope they can capture the world series championship next year. I think he will be worth the money for the foreseeable future.
