Vikings Defense Struggles In A Loss To The Lions

The Minnesota Vikings fall to the Detroit Lions 34-23 and are 2-2 in their last four games.

The Vikings offense was not able to come through today in their game against the Detroit Lions, as they were unable to stop the lions on offense letting Jared Goff erupt for 330 yards and three touchdowns on the day. This is the fifth straight game of the Vikings allowing 400 or more yards of offense from the opposing team.

Detroit took a 21-7 lead in the 3rd quarter with 5:44 to go and Minnesota was unable to get going after failing to tie the game in the second quarter then being thwarted on an attempt to Justin Jefferson that would have brought the game closer in the fourth quarter.

The game would be ended after the Lions had a 3rd and 7 and Goff hit offensive tackle Penei Sewell for a first down. The Lions would burn the clock and hit a field goal to go up 11 with 17 seconds left on the clock to end the game. Justin Jefferson having 223 receiving yards and Kirk Cousins throwing for 425 yards and two touchdowns, the defense for the Vikings just could not hold the lions back and give the Vikings possessions with the ball that they needed

The Vikings fall to 10-3 and now have to either win another game or see if the Lions lose next week against the Jets to clinch the division crown which they would have claimed today with a tie or a win. The Lions improve to 6-7 and have now won 5 of their last 6 games.
